The field of multi-agent systems is the subfield of AI that is concerned with understanding the issues that arise when we build AI systems that interact with each other. Over the past decade, game theory has become established as they key theoretical foundation for multi-agent systems. A branch of (micro-)economics, game theory is the mathematical theory of strategic interaction. In this talk, I will show how game theory can be applied to understanding the potential dynamics of multi-agent systems.
