Society Scarves

The Invariants have a unique design of scarf, distinctive in being joined at the ends after a single twist. (This is known as a Möbius band in honour of the scarf’s designer, August Möbius.)

Six stripes of equal width run lengthways round the scarf; reading from one edge to the same edge, the colours are blue, white, red, green, yellow and purple. These are allegedly the original colours of the faces of Rubik’s Magic Cube.

These high quality 100% woollen scarves will hopefully be made by Castell & Son, who manufacture most college scarves.

Historically-minded readers may remember the Invariants tie. This was Oxford blue and bore a white capital theta repeated periodically across it. (The capital theta was the society’s symbol.) Unfortunately the design has been destroyed.
